Dream It. Wish It. Do It

    0                0

Do you have a dream? Of course you do, everyone on this planet has a dream. It could have to do with who they want to be, what they want to do, where they want to live, a dream can be absolutely anything you hope will happen someday. When I say that I don’t mean wanting to get something, like a phone or an ipad. When I say something you hope will happen, I mean life aspirations, and the goal of your life. A dream is something a person spends every day, every hour, and every minute trying to achieve. Dreams become a reality if you make them a reality.

Dreams are not something that just get handed to you. You still have to work to make your dreams a reality. Most people think that god will give you your dreams, without doing anything. That truly is not the case. Do you think J.K. Rowling achieved her dream of becoming a bestselling author with no hard work? Do you think any of the people who entertain us made it big without any practice or hard work? The answer to every single one of those question is, believe or not,  No. All those people had a dream and went for it, with hard work, and dedication. Do you think spending years writing seven hundred page books is easy? (I am not over exaggerating, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is 734 pages)

Dreams are not things that stays the same. Most people’s dreams change as their life goes on. When I was 7 I had my little heart set on being like Hannah Montana. Embarrassing, I know! Anyway the point is, my dream used to be wanting to become a pop star, now guess what it is? A lawyer then the president (as you know from earlier blogsJ), that is a really big change, and two totally different professions. I know some people that, every year, their dream changes. When you find the dream you know you want and would do anything for, you will know. Even if …read more

STOP BULLYING – An Interesting Perspective by Tarina Ahuja

    0                0

What do you think of when you hear the word bullying? Mean, rude, hurtful, intimidating. You know the number one thing I think of when I hear the word bullying? Learning Tool! When I come across bullies, I try to learn from them.  We need to learn how to handle them. Most of the time bullies are insecure and act the way they do because they want to make themselves feel better. I know you have all heard this before and may not believe it, but I really think it’s true. While we don’t know for sure why each bully does what they do, I think it’s because that is the only way they know how to make themselves feel better.

Bullying has many faces:  psychological to physical to cyber bullying.  Cyber bullying occurs a lot today and is hurting teens by the minute.  They are often made fun off and sometimes threatened on Facebook. This is what happened to the Canadian teenager Amanda Todd.   She was threatened on Facebook that if she didn’t put on a “show” then an inappropriate picture of her would be shown to all of her friends. This happened because her one action lead to a series of events.   Sometimes things happen but we need to take responsibility for our actions and ask for help to stop the bullies.  We should not give in to them as that never helps anything.  When we do what bullies want, we give them the power that they desire.  This makes them think they are stronger and gives them the upper hand.  We need to help each other and more importantly help ourselves.

As William Shakespeare once said   ”It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” When I think of this beautiful quote, I think it is up to us to decide if our destiny is to be in a society of bullies.  If each one of us can look at ourselves in the mirror at the end of the day and don’t see a bully looking back, …read more

A Fascinating Story – Big Miracle (As told by my 9 year old daughter)

    0                0

Big Miracle is a great inspiring and touching movie. It is about a whale family Wilma – the mom, Fred – the dad and Bam Bam, of course the baby. It is about three whales who are stuck under the ice in the Arctic circle near Barrow, Alaska. They only have one little hole to use as a breather and the rest is under solid ice and unless they are released into the open ocean within 3 days, they would die.

Everybody worked soooooo hard to help the whales find a way to the ocean which was blocked by massive solid ice. No breathing hole at all!  There were some not to nice people who obviously did not like the whales and had their own ideas.

The baby whale Bam Bam had Pneumonia. There are a lot of surprising scenes in this movie. A lot of people had real undying determination to save the whales. At one point one whale – well sorry I can’t tell you. You have to watch the movie to find out.

I say you should watch it. It might not be for everybody bit I loved it. The lesson learned is that if we all come together and work together – we can overcome any problems at all.

Please send comments if you want me to do more reviews for movies. I always take requests on any movies you want me to review. But remember I am nine years old.
